Iranian short film 'The Rock' has been scheduled to go on the silver screen at the 17th edition of the Baikal International Film Festival in Russia.
Directed by Hamid Jafari, the documentary is to take part at the competition section of the Russian film event.
It narrates the story of a woman who lives near the southwestern Iranian city of Ramhormoz.
Every day, she goes to the mountain with a sledgehammer and a crowbar in hand to smash and break the rocks so that she can sell them to provide for her family.
Established in 2007, the Baikal International Film Festival was founded by the Union of Filmmakers of the Russian Federation and its Irkutsk regional branch and is held with the support of the Ministry of Culture and the Government of Irkutsk region.
The 2018 edition of the event is slated for September 21-25, 2018.
